Bahía del Correo or Post Office is on the north of Floreana, known as the island of the thousand mountains. It was a refuge for pirates from the last years of the 15th century until the first years of the 17th century. Post Office is a historic site, where the mailbox established by Colnett in 1793. The whalers and residents of the Galapagos use it to leave their mail inside. The departing ships left their letters and crafts returning home picked them up and sent them by mail to their recipients.
